The Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) is a component of the United States Special Operations Command and is charged to study special operations requirements and techniques to ensure: interoperability and equipment standardization, to plan and conduct special operations exercises and training, and develop Joint Special Operations tactics. It was established in 1980 and is located at Pope Army Air Field and Fort Bragg in North Carolina. New Century Planning had the honor of partnering with this organization for its needs for their JSOC 30th Anniversary Convention in 2011. This was a black tie gala honoring our local active duty service men and women. We saluted the leadership, courage, and self-sacrifice demonstrated daily by our local service members. Dr. Robert M. Gates, former Secretary of Defense under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama; and Michael Vickers, Under Secretary for Intelligence, were invited to attend the events. | This event was a coordination between April Ellerbe (CEO of New Century Planning) and Pinehurst Resort during her tenure as Sr. Manager of National Military Accounts.
The Center for HIV/AIDS Vaccine Immunology (CHAVI) is currently one of two implementation projects under the Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise, the other being the Collaboration for AIDS Vaccine Discovery funded by the . New Century Planning partnered with Duke to solidify an air and rail travel program for both domestic and international travel for its affiliates. Domestic travel included travel within and between any of the 50 States as well as international travel which included locations such as Malawi, Uganda, Canada, South Africa, Tanzania, Australia, etc. With the expertise and consulting aid from New Century Planning, we were able to match CHAVI with a successful managing partner to outsource its airfare travel. With this addition to the services being offered by New Century Planning strengthened CHAVI’s ability to add the airfare piece to the groups meeting planning needs up-selling the experience for CHAVI’s conference attendees. New Century Planning has the strength to provide the 2012 Democratic National Convention Program Team with consistent, best-in-class service levels, exceptional account management, as well as state-of–the-art reporting and technology tools as we did for Duke CHAVI.
Throughout the company’s history, New Century Planning has managed and event programs comprising of high-ranking government officials, researchers, politicians, educators, and community leaders. Most recently, New Century Planning served as the Event Management Company for the 10th Annual Defense Trade Show co-hosted by Senator Kay Hagan, Senator Richard Burr, and Congressman Larry Kissel. The event included a private Congressional Delegation Dinner, one-day trade show, extensive networking sessions, and several government procurement workshops for both prospective and current federal contractors. The featured symposium of this year’s event was focused on the strategic partnering sessions between government contractors and businesses in North Carolina. The North Carolina Defense Trade-Show is the only trade show in North Carolina that brings together nationally recognized defense companies, large and small North Carolina businesses, and senior leaders from Capitol Hill, the Pentagon, Forces Command, Army Reserve Command, and North Carolina bases.
